Position: Retail Manager (Full Time)
Salary: $80,000 to $80,000
To be considered for this role you will need to have
· Minimum of 1 year experience in Oporto as a Retail Manager or 2 years as a Manager (Level 3b)
· Experience of labour and expense control
· You must have a strong administration skills
· Store is Open 7 days a week and the successful candidate must be available full time and flexible in there working hours.
· Must have a food safety supervisor certificate
· Must have a first aid certificate
· Experience in food safety and hygiene processes
Retail Manager – Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall performance of the store, including sales, profitability, customer service standards, and staff retention.
- Plan and manage daily operations to ensure smooth service during extended trading hours and high customer volumes.
- Monitor and maintain the store’s financial performance, including Gross Profit, controllable P&L line items, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Recruit, train, supervise and retain staff and managers, ensuring adequate coverage across all shifts and a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement staff rosters, monitor attendance, and liaise with payroll/accounting staff to ensure records are accurate.
- Conduct staff training and performance reviews, oversee appraisals and wage reviews, and implement staff incentive programs.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies (food, packaging, and operating materials), and complete weekly stocktakes to minimize wastage and meet business demands.
- Ensure the store complies with all labour laws, workplace health & safety requirements, and food handling regulations.
- Implement and maintain customer service standards, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage and reconcile bank deposits and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Organize and oversee in-store promotions, marketing activities, and monthly activity calendars to achieve sales objectives.
- Liaise with Oporto’s Business Development Manager and head office to implement operational action plans and meet company benchmarks.
- Maintain effective staff communication, including noticeboards, meetings, and team briefings, to ensure alignment with store objectives.
