About the role
The Team Leader, Education & Family Support provides leadership and oversight across a range of family and early years programs, ensuring children and families receive culturally responsive, strengths based, trauma-informed support. Leading a team of case managers, family workers, facilitators and educators, the role drives high-quality service delivery while championing the best interests of children, strengthening family connections and promoting cultural wellbeing. The position may also undertake direct client work and contribute to the growth and development of new and emerging programs.
About You
You are a value driven leader with a strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures, communities and the issues impacting children, young people and families. You bring experience working across child and family services, with a sound knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practice and risk management. A collaborative and capable people leader, you build strong partnerships, support high-quality practice and guide teams to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families. Committed to cultural safety, accountability and continuous improvement, you lead with integrity and always advocate for decisions that are in the best interests of the child.
- Desirable:
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a client-facing role in the family services sector
- Experience working directly or indirectly within leadership roles
- Experience working in Aboriginal organisations and with Aboriginal communities
- Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology and/or Child and Family Welfare or an equivalent related to community services or willingness to obtain.
- Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
