The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Manager to support a Defence intelligence capability responsible for delivering critical data, analytics, services and products that enable Defence operations and government priorities. This role will support the delivery and sustainment of enterprise business capabilities, ensuring effective governance, planning, coordination and continuous improvement of business functions. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic and operational outcomes while supporting a high-performing team operating in a secure and complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support business planning, governance and operational activities.
- Monitor and maintain data quality, business processes and reporting functions.
- Develop and maintain documentation, procedures and business artefacts.
- Produce reports, dashboards and presentations to support decision-making.
- Provide advice and support to stakeholders across operational and project activities.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant governance, policy and quality requirements.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of business capabilities and services.
About You
You are an experienced business professional with strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills. You are comfortable operating in complex and highly secure environments, managing priorities, supporting governance activities and delivering high-quality outcomes. You possess strong communication skills and a proactive approach to solving problems and driving continuous improvement.
Essential Criteria
- Current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance, or a TSPV held within the previous 12 months that has subsequently been downgraded.
- Ability to successfully obtain a Defence Intelligence Suitability Assessment (DISA).
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex business, operational or program functions.
- Strong governance, reporting and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience preparing professional documentation, reports and briefings.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a highly secure environment.
Desirable Criteria
Current Defence-recognised Psychological Assessment (PA).
Experience supporting Defence, National Security or Intelligence environments.
Experience working within complex government programs.
Knowledge of Defence governance frameworks and operating environments.
Experience supporting continuous improvement and capability uplift initiatives.
Strong understanding of business operations, planning and performance management.
