Disability Support Worker

Empowerment Supports is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for a 1:1 Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA) home in Cardiff, supporting a female participant. Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, guided by our values of Integrity, Empowerment, Belonging and Respect.
About the role
This is a 1:1 position within a single SDA home, working closely with the participant to support her daily living, personal care and NDIS goals in a stable, familiar environment.
Shifts available:
- Day shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Afternoon/evening: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Sleepover: 10:00pm – 6:00am
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personal care support (this role has a genuine occupational requirement for a female staff member under anti-discrimination law, given the nature of the personal care involved)
- Domestic assistance - light cleaning, meal preparation, and transport to appointments and activities
- Engaging the participant in community access and meaningful daily activities
- Calm, respectful, trauma-informed conversations that support emotional regulation
- Following the participant's individual Care Plan and Behaviour Support Plan
- Accurate case notes, incident reports, and shift handover documentation
- Liaising with our clinical team, House Manager, family and guardians
What you'll bring
- Experience in disability support, particularly personal care
- Current WWCC, First Aid certificate, and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver's licence, own reliable vehicle, and comprehensive car insurance
- Comfort and experience with sleepover shifts
- Empathy, patience, and consistency - this participant benefits from continuity of support

Pay: $38.00 – $45.00 per hour
