About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Steel Installation Site Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient installation of structural steel on commercial and industrial construction projects. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating site crews, ensuring works are completed to specification, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate structural steel erection and installation activities on site
- Lead installation crews, subcontractors, crane operations, and lifting activities
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project schedules
- Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety inspections
- Monitor compliance with WHS regulations, site safety plans, and company procedures
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, builders, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
- Identify and resolve site issues, delays, and quality concerns
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and documentation
- Ensure materials, equipment, and labour resources are effectively managed
- Promote a positive and professional team culture on site
- Set out and marking out of Holding Down Bolts and Site Welded elements
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience supervising structural steel installation projects is required
- Strong knowledge of steel erection methods, rigging, lifting, and construction sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret structural and shop drawings
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements and risk management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced construction environments
Required Qualifications & Tickets
- White Card
- Relevant trade qualification (Boilermaker, Steel Fabrication, Rigging, or similar preferred)
- High Risk Work Licence (Rigging/Dogging/EWP preferred)
- Current Driver's Licence
- First Aid Certification Advantageous
- Basic knowledge of welding procedures, using both stick and mig welding machines

Pay: $76,006.50 – $157,162.71 per year
