Selection Criteria:
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
- Evidence of general registration and 24 months of clinical practice OR hold a Specialist International Medical Graduate Determination issued by the RCPA
- Evidence of satisfactory participation in quality improvement activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education, research and teaching
For applicants for whom 2027 would be your first year of laboratory training with the RCPA, evidence of vocational interest in Microbiology (e.g. employment, previous training or research in Microbiology or related field) OR For applicants who have commenced laboratory training with the RCPA, documentary evidence of satisfactory progress in Microbiology training, including supervisor’s reports, success in exams and satisfactory progress in the directly observed procedural skills portfolio

This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand Policy Directive PD2026_004 Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination against specified diseases. All new recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. New recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.
