Primary Objective
Provide high quality, culturally sensitive nursing/midwifery care to clients to achieve best patient outcomes.
Context statement
Central Australia renal service is looking for registered nurses (RN/EN) with an interest in renal nursing to join this dynamic
team. A supported hands on training program will be provided commencing the end of September 2026. Employees will
learn of the complexity of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and impacts on indigenous health.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
2. Works within the registered nurse/midwife scope of practice and according to evidence-based practice and legislation.
3. Works respectfully and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
4. Participates in coaching, mentoring and teaching nursing/midwifery colleagues.
5. Participates in quality improvement opportunities.
6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
7. Follows defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the
work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Capacity to work shift work and be redeployed to other clinical areas to meet clinical needs.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration as a registered nurse or registered midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead and co-ordinate client care resulting in positive clinical outcomes.
3. Demonstrated written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to contribute effectively within the
multidisciplinary team.
4. Demonstrated understanding of the impact of social and cultural challenges experienced by vulnerable
groups/communities and the role of the nurse/midwife in supporting them.
5. Knowledge and application of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles in a health care setting.

The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and
undergo a criminal history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to
the position. This role carries specific immunisation requirements. To be eligible for appointment you will be required to
