About the role:
Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Commercial Finance will be a key strategic partner to the CEO, Board and Executive Leadership Team. This role leads Oroton’s commercial finance function, providing financial insight and commercial support across budgeting, forecasting, investment analysis and business performance. Leading a high-performing team, you will help drive strategic decision-making, improve forecasting and performance outcomes, and transform the way commercial finance operates through smarter systems, streamlined processes and the practical application of AI.

Key responsibilities

Partner with the CEO, CFO, Board and executive team on strategic commercial decisions, providing financial insight and recommendations across trading, investment, pricing and growth initiatives
- Lead the Group budgeting and forecasting process, including annual budgets, reforecasts and performance analysis.
- Develop robust business cases, investment frameworks and returns analysis to support major commercial decisions and capital allocation.
- Analyse performance across Boutique, Concession, Outlet and Online channels, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and drive growth.
- Partner closely with Retail, Property and Visual Merchandising teams on store investment decisions, refurbishments, concessions and expansion opportunities.
- Support Design, Buying, Merchandising, Production and Supply Chain functions with commercial analysis around inventory, working capital, freight and operational performance.
- Provide financial governance and analytical oversight across technology investments and major business projects.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Digital and CRM teams to ensure investment decisions are supported by clear commercial outcomes and measurable return metrics.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives, including workflow redesign, systems implementation and the integration of AI into commercial finance processes.
- Mentor, develop and lead the commercial finance team, building capability and strengthening business partnership across the organisation
What we're looking for:

CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive commercial finance and FP&A leadership experience.
- Exceptional commercial acumen with strong investment appraisal, business case development and financial modelling capability.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, including executive teams and Boards.
- Experience leading strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting within a complex commercial environment.
- Proven success leading and developing high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
- Experience transforming finance functions through technology, systems improvement and practical application of AI.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear business recommendations.
- Retail, consumer, consulting, finance transformation or post-merger integration experience will be highly regarded.
