About the role
The Sutherland Hospital Mental Health Service is seeking to recruit a Staff Specialist Psychogeriatrician for a part time position in the Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) Team. The position will provide expert assessment and treatment for consumers within the OPMH Team. The role includes teaching and supervision of Psychiatry Trainees.
SESLHD provides a competitive salary starting at a higher level and an accelerated progression towards a Senior Staff Specialist, under certain conditions.
About the Mental Health Service
The Sutherland Older Persons Mental Health Service is predominantly a community-based Service, with some Consultation Liaison work for consumers over 65 years of age located within Sutherland Hospital Geriatric Units. While there are no OPMH Inpatient beds situated at Sutherland Hospital the OPMH Service has access to the OPMH Unit at St George MHS.
The Mental Health Service has a 28 Bed Acute Mental Health Unit and a 5 bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit, and is situated within the Sutherland General Hospital which has 375 general medical beds.

The primary location of this position may be varied as agreed with the Director of Medical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD.
