Simply Seated is a premium event hire and styling company delivering furniture, styling and event infrastructure for some of Australia's most recognised corporate events, exhibitions, gala dinners, sporting events and brand activations.
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Event Operations Manager to lead our Melbourne warehouse operations and ensure every event is delivered to the highest standard.
This is not a desk-based role. You'll spend your time coordinating logistics, preparing events, leading crews and being on-site to ensure successful deliveries, installations and pack-downs.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our Melbourne branch, ensuring jobs are planned, prepared and executed safely, efficiently and on time.
You will play a key role in coordinating interstate transfers from Sydney, managing warehouse readiness and leading delivery crews across Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Melbourne warehouse.
- Review upcoming jobs and ensure all stock is prepared, quality checked and ready for dispatch.
- Allocate warehouse, delivery and installation crews across multiple projects.
- Coordinate deliveries, collections, bump-ins and bump-outs.
- Attend major event sites to oversee installations and resolve operational issues.
- Liaise daily with the Sydney operations team regarding interstate freight and stock transfers.
- Ensure interstate deliveries are unpacked, checked and prepared well in advance of event dates.
- Maintain accurate stock control and report any shortages or damages.
- Ensure all vehicles are loaded safely and efficiently.
- Manage warehouse presentation, organisation and cleanliness.
- Ensure WHS procedures and company standards are maintained at all times.
- Assist with loading, unloading and installations when required.
About You
You are a practical, organised leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and leading by example.
You will have:
- Experience in event operations, logistics, warehouse management or production.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Experience scheduling delivery crews and coordinating multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the confidence to make decisions under pressure.
- A positive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to jump in wherever required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage both clients and internal teams professionally.
- A current driver's licence (truck licence highly regarded).
