Join our team as an Operator Maintainer
Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, getting hands-on with equipment, and tackling a variety of mechanical and operational challenges? Join our City Water team on North Stradbroke Island, where you'll play an important role in operating and maintaining critical water and wastewater infrastructure that supports the local community. Your responsibilities will include:
Operating, maintaining and monitoring wastewater treatment plants, water supply infrastructure and associated City Water assets across North Stradbroke Island.
Carrying out inspections, cleaning, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance activities on a wide range of water and wastewater assets.
Monitoring and responding to SCADA and telemetry systems to help ensure the reliable operation of essential services.
Supporting the development and delivery of maintenance programs and schedules in line with quality, safety and environmental requirements.
Identifying and reporting operational issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Working collaboratively with contractors and team members to maintain a safe, efficient and productive work environment.
Skills and experience:
Trade qualifications and practical experience in plumbing, mechanical, electrical or another field relevant to the water industry.
Experience working with infrastructure, plant, equipment or assets in an operational or maintenance environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and carry out repairs on a variety of assets and equipment.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety and environmental compliance.
Ability to use computer-based systems and technology to support operational activities.
A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.

Eligibility:
- You'll hold a current Class C Drivers Licence.
- You'll have a Certificate III Trade Qualification or equivalent accredited qualification.
- You'll have the ability to participate in the after hours on call roster and be available for site related operations over weekends, public holidays.
- You'll have the ability to obtain and maintain Confined Space Entry qualifications including the use of breathing apparatus.
- You'll have the demonstrated physical fitness to safely accomplish all aspects of the role.
- To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
