Key responsibilities
Ensure successful business outcomes through effective resource utilisation, performance monitoring, analysis and reporting.
Review of QTRIP processes and procedures by investigating/ resolving/escalating issues where required to ensure financial governance and processes are followed to deliver successful program outcomes.
Review and endorse accrual journals, financial approvals and other monthly processes were required.
Coordinate end-of-month financial activities ensuring process requirements and time frames are communicated to staff.
Promote and reinforce the need for internal control processes and continuous improvements that support effective financial functions and associated reporting to the regional program.
Provide operational leadership and support to team members as well as on-the-job training to ensure appropriate skill sets and training needs are identified and developed.
Demonstrate leadership behaviours and actively participate as part of the wider Business Operation and Capability teams in achieving customer focused outcomes.
Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental, regional policies and procedures, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
Utilise a variety of software packages to support the financial management function within the Region (SAP, 3PCM, Microsoft Office Suite).
Assist the Principal Advisor (Program Performance) to ensure regional program deliverables are met.

Provide finance support for contracts, projects and infrastructure programs via interpretation and application of financial management practices at a regional level as applicable to projects and program delivery. Demonstrated ability to apply detailed knowledge of financial concepts and processes as they relate to internal and external project/financial reporting.
Proven ability to gather insight for critical thinking and problem solving and embrace new ideas and innovation to achieve greater efficiencies for the team.
