About Us: SK VVT Road Works Pty Ltd is a civil and telecommunications contractor supporting the delivery and maintenance of Australia’s broadband infrastructure within the NBN network.
Our services include road works, trenching, conduit and fibre installation, pit and pipe construction, network maintenance, civil construction support, and project coordination for large-scale rollout programs. We also provide asset mapping, data capture, and compliance support for infrastructure projects.
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and support the organisation's ICT infrastructure and operational systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, performance, and reliability of network and server environments that support civil works, telecommunications projects, and field operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Install, configure, maintain, and monitor servers, operating systems and network infrastructure.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions and system security.
- Perform system upgrades, software installations, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network and system issues.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Support cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including business applications.
- Maintain system documentation, asset registers and technical procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and liaise with vendors where required.
- Ensure ICT systems comply with organisational policies and security standards.
About You
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology or a related field including 1–2 years' experience as a Systems Administrator or a similar role.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
- Experience with Windows/Linux servers, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking and system administration.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical teams and business users.
