The Senior Advisor is part of a small and adaptable team providing executive support and strategic advice to the CEO and Deputy CEO. The team works collaboratively across a range of areas including divisional coordination, approvals, advisory, governance, communications, reporting, and senior executive and Ministerial liaison.
The Senior Advisor takes on complex project work, including provision of quality assurance, and assists with high priority risks and issues management. They are responsible for the provision of authoritative advice across a range of policy and operational areas in support of the division, CEO and Deputy CEO, and deal with sensitive issues in a confidential and authoritative manner.
This is a varied role that works on all aspects of support to the CEO, Deputy CEO, Strategic Advisor and a busy division, with a particular focus on strategic coordination, problem solving and relationship building.

About you:

Support the Strategic Adviser to manage priorities, track actions and improve the effectiveness of executive and corporate processes across the Hospitals Victoria division.

Use sound judgement to synthesise information, identify implications and support executive decision‑making that may impact beyond the immediate work area. Proactively manage risk and escalate issues as required.

Identify recurring problems and prevent future recurrence by integrating solutions into work process.

Negotiate with senior and peer stakeholders and with the object of gaining co-operation and meeting timelines for delivery of project, service or advice.

Draft and develop material including the preparation of Cabinet and Cabinet related material, Ministerial and Secretary briefings and meeting papers, agendas, minutes and reports.
Qualifications/Specialist Expertise

Knowledge of the department and its operating practices as well as government processes and information systems would be advantageous.
