About the Role
SN CAFE PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Cook to join our busy café team. This role is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to preparing high-quality meals while delivering excellent customer service.
The successful applicant will have hands-on cooking experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch service periods. Building positive relationships with regular customers and contributing to a welcoming team environment are essential aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of café meals in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch menu items including Big Breakfasts, burgers, wraps, gourmet sandwiches, toasties, desserts, and other café specialties.
- Perform daily food preparation, including preparing sauces, ingredients, and desserts.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and stock rotation.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising food waste.
- Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
- Collaborate with other kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Follow workplace health and safety policies and food hygiene procedures.
- Provide friendly and professional service while maintaining a positive attitude towards customers and colleagues.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will possess:
- A minimum of 1–2 years' experience working as a Cook in a busy café or similar hospitality environment.
- Experience preparing high-volume breakfast and lunch menu items.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A positive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude.
- High standards of personal presentation and hygiene.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold one of the following:
- AQF Certificate III, including at least two years of on-the-job training; or
- AQF Certificate IV with at least 12 months of relevant work experience.
Working Hours
- Full-time position.
- Eight-hour shifts.
- Must be available to commence work at 7:30 am and work until close (approximately 5:30 pm) as rostered.
- Availability to work at least one weekend day is essential.
- Monday to Friday shifts with weekend availability as required.
Employment Conditions
- Full-time permanent position.
- Salary: $76,600 per annum plus applicable superannuation.
- Work Authorisation: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
