Job description:
An established Sunshine Coast Hinterland hotel in Maleny (38 rooms, plus restaurant, bar and function/wedding venues) is seeking an experienced manager to run day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage the accommodation business and handle general property maintenance.
About the role:
This is a hands-on position running a busy, multi-faceted accommodation and events business in one of Queensland's premier hinterland tourism destinations. You'll oversee reception, housekeeping coordination, guest experience, food and beverage and functions support, and property upkeep across an elevated site with multiple buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of reception, bookings and guest service
- Coordinating housekeeping, front-of-house and restaurant staff
- Supporting the restaurant, bar and function/wedding operations
- General property maintenance and grounds upkeep across multiple buildings, decks and gardens (or coordinating trades)
- Managing online bookings and channel/OTA platforms
- Overseeing budgets, banking and basic reporting
What we're looking for:
- Prior accommodation/hospitality management experience (motel, resort, hotel or similar)
- Practical hands-on maintenance ability
- Experience with or willingness to support food & beverage and functions/events is highly regarded
- Comfort living and working in a regional hinterland town
- Self-sufficient, reliable, and able to run a site with minimal day-to-day oversight
