Your new role:
As an Advanced Health Worker - Post Disaster Recovery, you will play a vital role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities on their recovery journey following disaster events. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver culturally safe care, strengthen community resilience and promote healing through connection to culture, Country and community.
In this role you will:
Deliver culturally safe primary healthcare and psychosocial recovery support to First Nations communities.
Partner with community members, leaders and service providers to strengthen recovery and resilience.
Support individuals and families to navigate healthcare and recovery services.
Contribute to education, community programs and quality improvement initiatives that promote long-term wellbeing.
This is an identified vacancy with a genuine occupational requirement for the position to be filled by a candidate indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. Candidates not meeting this criteria will not be considered.
About you:
You're a passionate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker who is committed to improving health outcomes and strengthening the wellbeing of First Nations communities. You build trusted relationships, value cultural knowledge and enjoy working collaboratively to make a positive difference.
You will bring:
Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, community protocols and culturally safe healthcare.
Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with community stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage individuals, families and communities.
A genuine commitment to promoting emotional wellbeing, disaster recovery and community resilience.
