Position Overview
The Retail Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of Domino’s Pizza Kingswood’s daily operations, ensuring efficient store performance, strong financial outcomes, exceptional customer service, and effective team leadership. The role requires hands-on operational involvement within a fast-paced quick service restaurant environment and accountability for workforce management, compliance, inventory control, cost management, and operational performance in accordance with Domino’s Australia policies and procedures.
This is a senior operational role suited to an experienced retail or hospitality professional who thrives in a structured, performance-driven environment and possesses strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations & Performance
- Plan, coordinate, and manage daily store operations to achieve sales, productivity, service, and operational performance targets.
- Ensure store activities are conducted in accordance with Domino’s operational procedures, food safety requirements, workplace health and safety obligations, and applicable franchise standards.
- Monitor key operational performance indicators, including labour costs, food costs, wastage, sales performance, productivity, and profitability.
- Coordinate workflow and staffing during peak trading periods to maintain efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve store processes, productivity, operational efficiency, and service delivery standards.
- Support achievement of store sales and profitability objectives through effective operational planning and resource management.
People Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, train, roster, supervise, and motivate store employees, including shift supervisors, pizza makers, customer service staff, and delivery drivers.
- Allocate duties and coordinate staff activities to maintain efficient workflow throughout daily trading periods.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and skills development consistent with Domino’s training systems and operational expectations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture that promotes accountability, teamwork, productivity, and customer service.
- Monitor employee performance and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with operational demand.
- Promote compliance with workplace policies, procedures, and applicable employment obligations.
Customer Experience & Brand Standards
- Oversee customer service delivery across takeaway, delivery, online ordering, and in-store service channels.
- Monitor service standards and ensure customers receive efficient, professional, and consistent service.
- Resolve customer complaints, feedback, and service issues promptly and professionally to maintain customer satisfaction and protect the store’s reputation.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, food quality, and customer service.
- Ensure products are prepared, handled, and supplied in accordance with established quality, food safety, and service standards.
- Support customer service initiatives aimed at improving customer satisfaction, retention, and overall store performance.
Stock Management & Cost Control
- Manage inventory levels, supplier orders, stock deliveries, storage, and stock rotation procedures.
- Conduct regular stocktakes and monitor food cost variances, wastage levels, inventory usage, and product availability.
- Implement effective inventory and cost-control measures to minimise unnecessary wastage and support store profitability.
- Ensure sufficient stock is available to meet anticipated customer demand while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Ensure store equipment, point-of-sale systems, and other operational assets are maintained and functioning efficiently.
- Coordinate with suppliers and relevant internal support teams regarding stock, equipment, and operational requirements where necessary.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure store operations comply with applicable Fair Work obligations, food safety requirements, workplace health and safety legislation, and Domino’s internal policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review operational reports, sales summaries, labour reports, inventory records, and performance documentation as required.
- Maintain accurate records relating to staffing, rostering, inventory management, operational performance, and compliance activities.
- Implement and monitor company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines across all areas of store operations.
- Support compliance audits, operational assessments, and corrective actions where required.
- Assist with budgeting, labour planning, cost monitoring, and other administrative activities associated with effective store management.
Skills & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in retail, quick service restaurant, food retail, or hospitality management within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience managing employees, rostering, training, performance, and operational workflows.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, cost control, customer service, and retail performance management.
- Ability to monitor operational and financial performance and implement appropriate improvements where required.
- Excellent organisational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure while maintaining high service and operational standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays according to the operational requirements of the store.
- Preference will be given to suitably qualified Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents.
Preferred Qualifications
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2); or
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications.
- Current Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain relevant certification.
- Previous management experience within a quick service restaurant (QSR), franchised food retail, takeaway, or hospitality environment will be highly regarded.
- Experience using point-of-sale systems, workforce management tools, rostering systems, and inventory management systems is desirable.
Work Environment
