Position Overview
We are seeking compassionate, professional, and experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our growing healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, conducting clinical assessments, developing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for clients and residents.
The Registered Nurse will uphold professional nursing standards, comply with all relevant legislation, and contribute to a positive and supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care in accordance with professional standards and organisational policies.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review individualised care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed care plans and legislative requirements.
- Monitor and respond appropriately to changes in patient health status.
- Manage wound care, infection prevention, chronic disease management, and palliative care needs where applicable.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Care Coordination
- Collaborate with medical practitioners, allied health professionals, carers, and families to ensure coordinated care delivery.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and care staff.
Leadership & Supervision
- Provide clinical guidance and support to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing, and Care Workers.
- Assist in mentoring new staff members and students.
- Promote best practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with:
- AHPRA Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards.
- Aged Care Quality Standards (where applicable).
- National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
- Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
- Infection prevention and control guidelines.
- Participate in audits, incident reporting, and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with applicable legislation.
Essential Selection CriteriaQualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent recognised nursing qualification.
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse the relevant nursing board/ Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Experience
- Minimum 6 months post-registration clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Previous experience in aged care, community care, disability care, acute care, or primary healthcare.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Sound knowledge of medication management principles.
- Knowledge of current nursing practices and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and independently.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Competent computer and electronic health record skills.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration.
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (where required).
- Evidence of required vaccinations and immunisation status in accordance with relevant state and organisational requirements.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification (desirable).
- Valid Australian working rights.
- Valid Driver's Licence (where community-based travel is required)
