Are you passionate about irrigation systems, water efficiency and maintaining high-quality community spaces?
Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a motivated Irrigation Technician to join our Parks Operations team. This hands-on role works closely with the Irrigation Team Leader to support the operation, maintenance and improvement of irrigation systems across parks, open spaces, sports fields and other Council-managed assets throughout the region.
As an Irrigation Technician, you will undertake routine and programmed irrigation maintenance, assist with the installation and repair of irrigation systems, monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve water efficiency and turf health. You will also support irrigation renewal projects, troubleshoot faults and contribute to the delivery of safe, fit-for-purpose community facilities.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Application Criteria
- Certificate II/III in Horticulture, Irrigation Technology (or related discipline) and/or demonstrated experience in irrigation, turf or parks maintenance.
- Experience installing, operating, maintaining and repairing irrigation systems, including identifying and troubleshooting faults.
- Knowledge of irrigation principles, water efficiency practices and irrigation scheduling, with the ability to support healthy turf and landscape outcomes.
- Experience working safely in an outdoor environment, with the ability to use irrigation equipment and contribute to high-quality customer and community outcomes.
