Do you get a buzz from turning technical problems into real-world performance? We’re looking for an Applications Engineer to join our Research & Development team and help design the technology that fuels our customers’ automotive passion.
Haltech is a world leader in aftermarket automotive performance electronics. We are part of Race Winning Brands, which also owns Dart (blocks and heads), JE Pistons, Wiseco, Diamond Pistons, Boostline and MGP rods, Manley, PAC springs and many performance component manufacturers.
About the Role
As part of our R&D team, you’ll work closely with the Applications Team Leader and collaborate across Sales & Technical, Marketing, Project Management and Production to specify, test and validate solutions for a range of vehicles and applications. You’ll design and run experiments — including work in our dyno room — accurately document your findings, and help translate technical requirements into specifications that other engineers can act on.
This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who thrives in an agile environment, enjoys precise technical work, and wants to grow their engineering career surrounded by people who are genuinely passionate about cars.
What You’ll Do
- Understand vehicle and application requirements and translate them into accurate technical specifications
- Design efficient experiments and tests to determine and validate those requirements
- Execute experiments thoroughly and document results in detail so others can rely on your data
- Keep your tasks and project status up to date in Jira
- Actively contribute to stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives and technical/project meetings — flagging blockers, risks and opportunities for improvement
- Help maintain the R&D and test vehicle fleet, including safe use and upkeep of the dynamometer (dyno) room
- Support and collaborate with teammates, sharing knowledge and pitching in wherever needed
What You’ll Bring
- A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or similar) or Computer Science — or equivalent industry experience
- Comfortable working in an agile environment, with strong follow-through on tasks and clear, proactive communication
- A collaborative mindset — happy to ask for help, offer it to others, and flag issues early
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in getting things right the first time
- A safety-first attitude, particularly around test equipment and vehicle handling
Why Join Us
You’ll be part of a close-knit R&D team where your work directly shapes the products our customers love. We value people who take ownership of their tasks, communicate openly about progress and roadblocks, and care about doing quality work efficiently — not just quickly.
