The Role
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on and safety-focused Groundsperson to join our Facilities Maintenance Team. This important role supports the safe, compliant and efficient maintenance of Adelaide Airport’s grounds, civil infrastructure and airside environments.
Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Team Leader – Land Management, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across airport grounds and infrastructure, including roads, runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage, fencing, pavement line marking and landscaping.
This role is suited to someone with strong grounds, civil maintenance or farm maintenance experience who is confident operating machinery such as mowers, loaders, tractors, slashers and spray units. The role requires someone who is comfortable working in a live aviation environment, including airside areas, where priorities can change due to operational requirements.
You will need to be reliable, safety-conscious, a strong communicator and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team. The role involves repetitive but important operational work, working outdoors in all weather conditions and supporting tasks such as mowing, spraying, inspections, line marking and general grounds upkeep. While the role is primarily worked Monday to Friday, occasional night works may be required to support runway line marking activities, typically every second Sunday.
