The Hutchins School is seeking an experienced and passionate Fitness Hub and Performance Manager to lead the establishment and ongoing operation of our new premium Fitness Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative fitness professional to combine leadership, operational management and evidence-based strength and conditioning within a leading independent school. Working closely with the Director of Sport, you will oversee a boutique, high-performance training environment that supports students, staff and community members through exceptional coaching, outstanding service and contemporary sports science.
About the role
As the Fitness Hub and Performance Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Fitness Hub, ensuring it delivers an exceptional experience for every member while operating as a premium fitness and performance centre.
You will oversee facility operations, lead evidence-based strength and conditioning programs, manage specialist contractors and external service providers, and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the Fitness Hub.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Fitness Hub, ensuring exceptional service delivery and presentation.
- Design and deliver evidence-based strength and conditioning programs for students and members.
- Manage budgets, resources, compliance and operational reporting.
- Engage, induct and oversee specialist contractors and allied health providers.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive and high-performing member experience.
- Support membership growth, engagement and retention initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with work health and safety, risk management and regulatory requirements.
About you
You are an experienced fitness leader who enjoys combining coaching excellence with operational leadership. You are passionate about helping people perform at their best and thrive in an environment focused on continuous improvement.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Certificate IV in Fitness or tertiary qualifications in Sports Science, Exercise Science, Human Movement or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in strength and conditioning coaching, ideally with adolescent athletes.
- Experience managing a fitness facility, high-performance centre or similar operation.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based training principles, injury prevention and athlete development.
- Experience managing contractors or multidisciplinary service providers.
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in an educational environment and professional accreditation (such as ASCA or ESSA) will be highly regarded.
