Backpackers In Paradise is looking for an experienced and motivated Front office / All-Rounder Team Leader to join our team.
This is a casual position averaging 32 hours per week, offering the opportunity to play a key leadership role within our hostel operations. We're looking for someone who leads by example, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences.
As the Reception / All-Rounder Team Leader, you will support the Hostel Manager by leading reception and front office operations, coordinating volunteers, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring guests receive exceptional service from check-in to check-out.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the reception and front office.
- Manage guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, payments, and enquiries.
- Supervise, train, and support reception staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure rooms are prepared and operational standards are maintained.
- Ensure hostel policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Support day-to-day hostel operations across all departments, including assisting in the café or bar when required.
- Assist the Hostel Manager with rostering, operational planning, and maintaining high service standards.
- Foster a positive team culture while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Requirements
- Australian Permanent Resident, Australian Citizen, or currently on a clear pathway to obtaining Permanent Residency.
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol).
- Previous experience in reception, hospitality, hotel, or hostel operations.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is essential.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Confident leading a team while remaining hands-on in daily operations.
- Flexible and willing to assist across all areas of the hostel as required.
Pay: $34.96 per hour
