About Us
We are seeking a detail-oriented Japanese Speaking Research Assistant on behalf of a Japanese governmental organisation for a short-term research project based in Sydney. This is a great opportunity to contribute to an international survey project focused on Japanese-affiliated companies across Australia and New Zealand.
Responsibilities
You will support a research project involving the survey of Japanese-affiliated firms in Australia and New Zealand, assisting with data validation and follow-up communications.
- Review, confirm, and update previously collected business data
- Update and maintain a database of company records based on instructions from Tokyo
- Conduct follow-ups with companies to encourage survey participation and response submission
- Provide general research and administrative support as required
- Undertake additional tasks reasonably requested by management
Assignment Details
- Project Period: Monday, 3 August 2026 – Wednesday, 30 September 2026
- Location: Sydney CBD
- Working Hours: 10:00am – 5:00pm (including 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Work Schedule: 3–5 days per week

Your Profile
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Business-level Japanese language skills are essential
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and professional telephone etiquette
Prior experience with survey work or a Japanese research/consulting firm is highly regarded
