Sydney Hills Gymnastics is a well established gymnastics club in the Hills District . We opened our doors in 2012 in Castle Hill and have since expanded to a second venue in Bella Vista. We offer a wide range of programs, including early learning, school-age recreational classes, competitive gymnastics in MAG, WAG, and ACRO, as well as adult gymnastics.
We are seeking an experienced senior manager to Develop female participation in the Sport of Gymnastics. It is a Sports Development Officer position, a lead position that complements our developing competitive Women’s Artistic Gymnastics program.

Full Time Permanent Position of Sports Development Officer.
Sports Development Officer is responsible for establishing a high-performance gymnastics pathway, nurturing gymnasts from beginner levels to elite competition stages.
Leading a team of competitive coaches, fostering professional development and stability within the coaching team. Leasing with other mangers of programs and managing director on the subjects of development of the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.
Leasing to relevant authorities governing Gymnastics in Australia and NSW as well as with local government and their representatives. Sports Development Officer is accountable to the Managing Director.
Qualification:
Minimum Level is Advance Silver Accredited Coach
Tertiary Education in Sport education and coaching and/or sport management, Senior First Aid Certificate
Primary Responsibilities
- Promotes sports and skills development and oversees the participation of young people and other special groups in sport.
- Plan and oversee the development of gymnastics participation pathways across all ages and abilities, from introductory programs to competitive streams, ensuring alignment with club goals, leading international practices and Gymnastics Australia guidelines.
- Coaching, training and instructing athletes by analysing performances and developing abilities
- Planning and directing performance strategies, developing performance and preparations strategies, run debrief and analysis of competitions
- Motivating gymnasts and supervising their trainings
- Prepare all documentations for assessments, reporting and recording of athlete progression within their allocated squad(s)
- Recruiting gymnasts and coaching staff in the program
- Mentor coaching staff on program delivery objectives, ensuring alignment with development goals and facilitating up-skilling opportunities where needed
- Arranging entries into sporting competitions
- Officiating at sporting events to enforce rules
- Coordinating and directing sporting activities, and liaising with other officials to interpret and enforce rules and regulations relating to sport
- Coordinate school holiday programs and term-based initiatives to boost participation
- Build partnerships with schools, councils, and community groups to expand outreach.
- Oversee the delivery of school-based programs and ensure smooth communication with stakeholders
- Plan and deliver events such as open days, meets and community activations to increase engagement
- Work with marketing to promote programs, events, and success stories across various channels
- Abide by the Coaches Code of Ethics and the Youth Club Code of Ethics Reporting
- Sports Development Officer is reporting directly to the Managing Director on all issues of their competency.
Programming and Planning
- Organise tactical and practical plans and procedures for Program development
- Develops and Implement Program Development Plan.
- Together with the Program Coordinator and Head Coach prepare documentation, for the planning, selection, assessment, reporting, recording and syllabus content of the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics program.
Communication
- Communicate information to members of the club as required through the available channels.
- Communicate all necessary issues to the Managing Director
Educational
- Continually update knowledge and education in modern gymnastics.
- Present when necessary, at club’s education days, clinics, workshops . I.e. Child Protection, OHS
- Fulfil all requirements as required through Gymnastics Australia in relation to the National Coaches Accreditation Scheme.
