Senior Financial Accountant
Cobalt Blue Holdings Ltd is a publicly listed Australian company specializing in the exploration, development, and processing of critical minerals, particularly cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, and related by-products. The company’s strategic focus is on supporting the global battery and energy transition markets by developing sustainable and ethically sourced cobalt and other battery materials. Cobalt Blue Holdings Ltd primary projects include the Broken Hill Cobalt Project (BHCP), the Kwinana Cobalt Refinery (KCR), and the Halls Creek Project, each designed to produce high-purity metals and battery-grade intermediates for domestic and international markets.
Roles and responsibilities include:
· Ensure accurate and timely preparation of half-year reports.
· Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring compliance and the successful execution of statutory audits.
· Preparation of the monthly financial report (inc. project cost reports if required).
· Preparation of monthly Joint Venture financial reports.
· Oversee and manage the monthly payroll cycle from end to end (incl managing the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider).
· Update and manage cash flow forecast models.
· Cashflow and General ledger management.
· Preparation and review of monthly accounting reconciliations.
· Preparation of draft tax return workings (income tax and R&D claims).
· Assisting the CFO with the Group’s insurance program.
· Supervision of other financial accountant and AP function.
· Work with the finance team on system improvements, including documenting workflows and procedures and enhancing company processes and controls.
· Monitor corporate debit and credit card use and adherence to policy.
· Prepare ASX Quarterly cashflow statements.
· Assist with the preparation of Government grant reporting and the grant audit process.
· Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data.
· Tax Compliance (including preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS and payroll tax).
· Assist CFO with Company Secretarial and other matters as required.
You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to apply.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (mandatory).
· CPA or near completion (mandatory)
Experience:
· 5 years minimum experience as an Accountant or a related field.
Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
