The Senior Trader, Balance Sheet is part of TCorp’s Financial Markets division – funding and managing the NSW debt portfolio, providing advice and financial solutions and enabling local governments to access appropriate debt and investment products. The Senior Trader will help drive efficient risk management of TCorp’s Balance Sheet activities, having regard to changing market dynamics and client needs. This a 12 month maximum term employment opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively managing Balance Sheet financial risk to support client borrowing, debt issuance and refinancing strategies, within approved limits
- Collaborating with the wider Balance Sheet team to drive financial performance outcomes
- Managing market execution for interest rate, FX and commodity hedging transactions for the Financial Markets Solutions (FMS) team
- Managing risk associated with the Inflation Portfolio, with the objective of neutralising market exposure
- Supporting the Liquidity Manager in optimising liquidity management
- Providing advice, service and market execution to the wider Financial Markets team
- Assisting with the management of TCorp’s day-to-day relationships with key external stakeholders including banks and investors and promoting TCorp’s image in the market.
About You
The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of fixed income, managing risk positions, interest rate and foreign exchange markets, as well as NSW Government financial management policy and public sector finances obtained through extensive financial markets experience at a bank, balance sheet or fund manager. Existing relationships with fixed interest market contacts and institutional investors as well as relevant tertiary qualifications and AFMA accreditations are essential.
