Position: Ecommerce Photographer

As an Ecommerce Photographer, you’ll play a key role in bringing client briefs to life for one of Australia’s leading retailers. Working closely with clients, stylists, producers and the wider studio team, you’ll bring creative briefs to life while ensuring consistency, quality and efficiency across every shoot. You’ll balance creative vision with client requirements, using your expertise to provide thoughtful recommendations, solve challenges and deliver photography that meets both creative and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Photography/ Studio Manager, you will:
- Capture and process ecommerce imagery to brief
- Deliver consistent, high-quality photography that aligns with client brand guidelines and visual standards
- Provide direction and guidance on set to achieve the best possible outcomes
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve image quality, workflow, and studio efficiency
- Operate, maintain and organise photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and studio systems
- Manage digital assets and maintain accurate archiving, file management, and database records
- Collaborate closely with photographers, stylists, producers, and clients to ensure seamless shoot execution
- Support the broader studio team as required and contribute to a positive, solutions-focused working environment
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and adapt quickly to changing priorities and production needs
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail ecommerce photography, including both product and talent photography
- Advanced knowledge of Capture One software
- Strong technical expertise in studio lighting, camera systems and photographic workflows
- Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver high-volume, high-quality ecommerce imagery
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively within a creative team
- Proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to get the job done
- Proven problem-solving skills and confidence working in a fast-paced production environment
- Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team player and autonomously
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience working within large-scale retail or agency studio environments
- Knowledge of ecommerce content production workflows and digital asset management systems
- Experience photographing across a diverse range of product categories
- Basic image retouching or post-production knowledge
- An interest in emerging photography technologies, automation and content production innovation
