The Role
As the Senior Strategic Planner you will enjoy a diverse and varied workload. Reporting to the Strategic Planning Co-Ordinator and based in Windsor, you will develop strategic policies relating to land development and advise on complex planning matters using best practice principles.
About You
To be successful in this position you must have a degree qualification in Town Planning and a strong background in Land Use Strategy/plan development supported by expertise with related legislation. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Essential Criteria
- Degree qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning or related discipline recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic land use planning within Local Government or a comparable planning environment (typically 6+ years).
- Extensive experience preparing and managing Planning Proposals and Local Environmental Plans.
- Experience preparing Development Control Plans and strategic planning policies.
- Experience managing complex planning projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience preparing reports for Council and Executive.
- Experience leading community consultation and stakeholder engagement
- Experience managing consultants and multidisciplinary projects
- High Level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent written communication skills, including ability to prepare reports
- Class C driver’s licence
- The right to live and work in Australia
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
