Amici Restaurant & Pizzeria, a busy Italian restaurant and pizzeria in Caloundra, is seeking an experienced Cook to join our dinner service kitchen team.
About the role
- Full-time position, 38 hours per week
- Dinner service only
- Annual salary package: $80,000 per annum
- Overtime paid for any hours worked beyond the standard roster, where required
Duties
- Prepare, cook and present a range of Italian and pizzeria dishes to a consistent standard
- Plan menu items in consultation with kitchen management
- Prepare and cook pizza, pasta, sauces, entrées and mains for dinner service
- Estimate food requirements and assist with ordering of kitchen supplies
- Monitor food stocks and rotate perishable items
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, food safety and workplace safety standards
- Supervise and coordinate other kitchen staff during dinner service as required
Skills and experience required
- Trade qualification (Certificate III or higher) in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant experience
- Prior experience working as a cook in a restaurant or pizzeria environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during service
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Pay: $81,000.00 per year
