Placement / Family Details
· Location of family home: NSW 2179
· Number of children: 1
· Children’s ages: 1year old
· Required care times: Monday to Friday 2pm to 6pm
· Additional duties: [e.g. school drop-off, school pick-up, routine care, meal support, transport to activities, homework support]
· Any special requirements: He is fed via a nasogastric tube (NGT) and requires 24/7 supervision. Educator must be present at all times to ensure his safety, including monitoring to prevent him from pulling out the tube. He requires tube feeding every four hours, and the family will provide education and guidance on how to perform this. If the tube is accidentally removed, the educator must contact Mum immediately and take the child to the hospital for reinsertion.
Role Summary
We are looking for a caring, dependable and professional educator to provide In Home Care services for a MIHELP family. The successful candidate will travel to the family home and deliver high-quality care in accordance with MIHELP procedures, family routines and child safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate care in the family home.
· Follow the agreed care routine, service schedule and MIHELP directions.
· Support daily routines such as play, meals, rest, transitions and school-related care where required.
· Transport children safely where this is part of the placement and approved by MIHELP and the family.
· Maintain professional communication with MIHELP and the family.
· Complete required records, timesheets and service documentation accurately and on time.
· Follow MIHELP policies relating to child safety, supervision, safe sleep, medical conditions, transport, emergency response and confidentiality.
Essential Requirements
· Driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle, if driving is required for the placement.
· Willingness and ability to travel to family homes.
· Working With Children Check valid for the relevant state / territory.
· Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to obtain before commencement if permitted).
· Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher), or actively working towards a relevant qualification, subject to MIHELP and regulatory requirements.
· Police Check and other screening checks as required.
· Professional communication skills, reliability and punctuality.
· Ability to work independently in a home-based care environment.
Desirable
· Previous experience in In Home Care, Family Day Care or centre-based early childhood education and care.
· Experience with school-age care, infant care, or supporting children with additional needs.
· A second language relevant to family needs, if applicable.
· Intermediate computer skills and confidence using email, forms and online systems.
