In this role, you'll:
Be responsible for undertaking a range of maintenance support activities to support the section’s line management and maintenance delivery staff in order to facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of scheduled works.
The Works Support Officer will also be responsible for:
- Preparing and managing contract documents, assisting with tenders, and helping administer contracts.
- Supporting the planning and delivery of works by preparing management plans, maintaining training records, coordinating training and assessments, handling public enquiries, and carrying out asset inspections.
- Collecting, maintaining and analysing project and works data using databases, and preparing clear reports for management.
- Providing administrative support and advice to team members and acting as a point of contact for suppliers and customers when needed.
- Helping maintain Quality, Work Health & Safety (WHS), and Environmental systems by keeping records up to date, conducting basic audits, and supporting system improvements.
- Assisting with resource planning and procurement by working with supervisors and engineers and following approved procedures and guidelines.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to workplace changes by regularly reviewing systems and procedures.
This is an ongoing full-time role located at Cooma - with a requirement to work on-site five days per week.
TfNSW take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously therefore to be eligible for this role it is a requirement that you must reside within 75 kms driving distance from the Cooma Depot.
Travel throughout the Snowy Monaro Region and working at locations away from home may also be required. Allowances for working away from home and accommodation will apply.

About you
You are a highly organised administrator with strong project support experience and a keen eye for detail. You can effectively manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
You are confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, and are comfortable working across a range of business systems, including Asset Vision. Your strong computer skills enable you to provide efficient administrative and procurement support.
You are an effective communicator who can build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Working collaboratively within a team, you communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
You are a proactive problem solver with strong organisational skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. You thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines and contribute to the smooth delivery of projects and business operations.
It is essential that you possess a current motor vehicle driver licence and be available to work outside normal working hours and to travel on occasion.
