We have an opportunity for a Technical Officer to join our Customer and Innovation group on a permanent full-time basis.
The Customer and Innovation group leads and champions the way Urban Utilities connects with its customers. Our approach is focused on remaining contemporary, by understanding the current and future needs of our customers and appropriately shaping our services.
As a Technical Officer, you will be responsible for provision of timely analytical activity and throughput in a NATA accredited laboratory (range of microbiological and chemical methods). The Technical Officer shall participate in regular rotations across different methods in different departments (general chemistry, organics, metals, nutrients and microbiology).
Some of your accountabilities will include:
Carry out a specified range of complex tests to verify that specifications are met and to reject nonconforming material or articles.
Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; to identify and mitigate risks, and to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
Report analytical results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMs).
Review non-compliance issues and find solutions to ad hoc problems within an assigned unit or discipline.
Conduct complex analyses, quality tests and inspections that require a high level of independent judgment.
About you:
You are proactive and customer service focused, always looking at ways to add value to our clients or secure new opportunities.
Have a continuous improvement lens in all you do, passionate about shaping our future and enriching the quality of life
Diploma in Science or equivalent experience
