We use high-quality components, including Victron Energy products, to deliver reliable power solutions for industrial, commercial, caravan, recreational vehicle and remote applications.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Epping. This is a practical and collaborative engineering role involving system design, product development, production support, testing and technical problem-solving.
About the Role
The role combines electrical engineering design with practical involvement in system configuration, testing, commissioning and continuous product improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design customised off-grid solar, battery storage and electrical systems for industrial, commercial, mobile and remote applications.
- Assess customer requirements, electrical loads and operating conditions to develop suitable engineering solutions.
- Complete electrical calculations, including solar, battery, inverter, cable, voltage drop and protection sizing.
- Select appropriate system components and prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications and bills of materials.
- Configure, test and commission Victron and other off-grid power system components.
- Provide technical support during system assembly, installation, commissioning and after-sales service.
- Diagnose system faults, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions or design improvements.
- Ensure all designs and completed systems comply with Australian standards, safety requirements and internal quality procedures.
- Maintain accurate engineering drawings, test records, technical documents and manuals.
- Support product development, production planning, quality improvement and delivery coordination.
- Stay up to date with off-grid power, battery storage and renewable energy technologies.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
- Sound knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, renewable energy and electrical protection.
- Ability to read and prepare schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with customers, suppliers and production teams.
- Full Australian working rights.
Highly regarded experience includes:
- Off-grid solar and battery storage systems.
- Victron products, inverters, chargers, MPPT controllers and lithium batteries.
- Electrical testing, commissioning and fault diagnosis.
- Product development or manufacturing environments.
- AutoCAD or electrical design software.
- Commercial, industrial, caravan, RV or mobile power systems.
