About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of commercial growth at the City of Melbourne.
As the Senior Commercial Project Manager, you will lead the identification, assessment and development of strategic commercial opportunities that generate sustainable revenue and community value. Working across a diverse portfolio of assets, programs and services, you will translate ideas into commercially viable initiatives through market analysis, business case development, stakeholder engagement and commercial negotiation.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded leader who enjoys turning complex opportunities into approved, investment-ready projects and influencing decision-makers to drive meaningful outcomes.

In this role you will:
- Identify and evaluate revenue diversification opportunities across the organisation.
- Develop robust business cases supported by market research, financial modelling and commercial analysis.
- Lead the development of commercial strategies aligned to organisational priorities.
- Provide strategic advice and insights to support investment decisions and prioritisation.
- Engage Executive and senior stakeholders to secure support and endorsement for commercial initiatives.
- Lead complex negotiations and commercial arrangements with partners and stakeholders.
- Ensure commercial activities align with governance, risk and compliance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement across commercial frameworks, processes and project outcomes.

What your experience might look like
- Experience leading commercial strategy, business development or revenue growth initiatives.
- Demonstrated success developing business cases, investment proposals or commercial feasibility assessments.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including financial modelling and investment evaluation.
- Experience negotiating commercial partnerships, sponsorships or complex agreements.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and gain endorsement for strategic initiatives.
- Experience operating within governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting recommendations to executive audiences.
