Job Description
Deeply embedded in the local community at 7 McKillop Street, Geelong Smile Studio proudly cares for patients and families across Geelong, Geelong West, East Geelong, Newtown, South Geelong, Belmont, Highton, and Grovedale.
We love local people — clinicians who want to build a long-term home here, connect with the community, and enjoy everything the Geelong region has to offer.
Our practice features a thriving preventive hygiene program powered by two dedicated Dental Hygienists. We are seeking a caring, ethical Dentist to help manage the active overflow from our hygiene department, treat emergency cases, and provide comprehensive restorative care.
Equipped with cutting-edge technology including CEREC CAD/CAM, Cone Beam CT, Nitrous Oxide, and MIS & Straumann Implant Systems, you will work alongside two highly experienced restorative dentists who are eager to mentor and support your professional growth.
What You Will Be Doing
Conduct comprehensive dental examinations, diagnose oral health conditions, and develop evidence-based, patient-centered treatment plans.
Provide a broad range of general and comprehensive restorative procedures in line with Dental Board of Australia requirements.
Manage workflow overflow from our busy 2-hygienist preventive care program and attend to emergency walk-ins.
Educate, inform, and engage patients—building trust and presenting complex treatment options without pressure, knowing that long-term production follows genuine care.
Collaborate closely with our Practice Manager and team, with opportunities to develop leadership skills and contribute to practice growth.
Refer patients to specialist clinicians where clinically appropriate.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records and documentation.
What We Are Looking For (About You)
We are looking for a clinician who is caring, honest, and truly values building long-term relationships over short-term production. You are patient, ethical, and passionate about community-focused dentistry.
Experience: Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience in general dentistry (outstanding mentorship available for growing practitioners!).
Clinical Focus: Confident across core general dentistry, with a patient and gentle approach to Pediatric Dentistry and an interest in Clear Aligners / Invisalign® (highly regarded).
Leadership Interest: Someone who is interested in leadership and keen to partner with practice management to foster a strong team culture.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex treatments clearly and comfortably.
Qualifications & Requirements
Current unrestricted AHPRA Registration as a Dentist.
Minimum 2+ years of clinical practice experience in Australia.
High clinical and diagnostic standards with a strong ethical foundation.
Current Radiation Licence and Professional Indemnity Insurance (or eligible to obtain).
