Part-Time Front of House Staff
Location: South Brisbane, Indooroopilly and Brisbane's southern suburbs
Employment type: Part-Time, ongoing
Applications: Open now, reviewed on a rolling basis
About the role
Neon Goose Hospitality provides front-of-house hospitality teams across three Brisbane sites: a major function venue hosting weddings, private functions, cultural celebrations and large-scale events, and two partner restaurants at South Brisbane and Indooroopilly.
We are recruiting an ongoing casual team, rather than staffing a single event. Shifts are offered across all three sites according to the trading and events calendar and your stated availability. The arrangement suits university students, people working around existing commitments, and anyone seeking flexible additional work.
Remuneration
From $33.85 per hour, with evening, weekend and public holiday penalty rates applied in addition.
Employment is on a casual basis under the applicable modern award, with superannuation paid in addition to your hourly rate. Your classification and applicable rate are confirmed in writing prior to your first shift.
Hours and rostering
Most shifts are approximately eight hours in duration. Start and finish times vary by site and event. Function shifts typically commence in the afternoon or early evening and conclude around midnight, with the majority falling on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Restaurant shifts cover lunch and dinner service across the week.
Key responsibilities
Duties vary by site and allocation, and may include:
Preparation
- Preparing function, restaurant and service areas ahead of service
- Setting tables and ensuring guest areas are clean, organised and presentation-ready
Service
- Welcoming guests and providing direction within the venue
- Assisting with food service, including carrying and serving plates, trays and beverages
- Clearing plates, glassware and tables, and resetting between courses
- Replenishing water, service items and guest requirements
- Supporting catering and event supervisors throughout service, and escalating matters outside the scope of the role
Close
- Maintaining clean and organised service areas throughout the shift
- Assisting with resets, pack-down and close
- Working with the team to maintain service standards and schedule
The role is physically active and conducted in a fast-paced environment.

- Current entitlement to work in Australia
Desirable
- Prior experience in hospitality, weddings, functions, catering, restaurants or events

Prior experience is well regarded but is not a prerequisite. We provide training to capable applicants who demonstrate a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and genuine reliability.
Locations and travel
Shifts are available across three Brisbane sites. Our restaurant sites at South Brisbane and Indooroopilly are well serviced by public transport. Our function venue is located in Brisbane's southern suburbs, and function shifts commonly finish around midnight, so applicants should be able to travel reliably at that hour. Venue details are confirmed at interview.
Application process
To apply, submit your application via the advertisement, including:
- Your name and suburb of residence
- Your general availability, including preferred days and approximate number of shifts per week
- Details of any hospitality experience, and whether you hold a current RSA
- A current resume, if available
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a brief interview, followed by a paid trial shift. Applications are reviewed as they are received.
