Alya is seeking experienced and confident Female Youth Support Workers, to support two young neurodivergent female participants located in Mansfield and Coomera.
Both participants require experienced workers who understand behaviours of concern, and the importance of providing calm, consistent and structured support.
These roles are best suited to workers who are confident in their abilities, can build strong rapport with young people and remain calm and responsive when behaviours escalate.
Previous experience supporting neurodivergent young people with behaviours of concern is essential.
Your role may include:
- Providing 1:1 support to a neurodivergent young person
- Understanding triggers, early warning signs and proactive support strategies
- Responding confidently and appropriately to behaviours of concern
- Building independence, confidence and everyday life skills
- Supporting routines and providing consistency and structure
- Community access and participation
- Maintaining clear and appropriate professional boundaries
- Completing detailed and accurate shift documentation
- Working collaboratively with families and the wider support team
About You
We're looking for experienced, confident and resilient Support Workers who understand that behaviour is a form of communication and can look beyond the behaviour to understand what a young person may be trying to express.
You will ideally:
- Have strong experience supporting neurodivergent young people
- Have demonstrated experience with behaviours of concern
- Have experience working with and implementing PBSPs
- Be confident with positive behaviour support and de-escalation
- Remain calm and consistent during challenging situations
- Understand person-centred and trauma-informed approaches
- Be able to build genuine rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
- Be proactive and confident working independently
- Have strong communication and documentation skills
- Be reliable and committed to providing consistent support
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening clearance
- Working with Children / Blue Card
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle and comprehensive car insurance
