About the role
We’re seeking a Lead – Business Analysis, Planning & Reporting (BAPR) to join Orica on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Melbourne, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement (4 days in the office, 1 day from home).
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys turning complex data into strategic insights. Working closely with the Manager BAPR (Group) and senior stakeholders across a global organization, you'll play a key role in driving business performance through financial analysis, planning, reporting, and decision-support.

What you will be doing
Reporting
Develop, implement, and analyze financial and management reports that support business strategy and performance objectives.
Partner with business leaders to provide accurate, timely, and insightful regional and business performance reporting.
Ensure month-end reporting activities, including Monthly Business Reviews and WD5 Flash Reporting, are completed in line with corporate standards and deadlines.
Deliver meaningful performance insights through the development and reporting of key business metrics, including Working Capital, EBIT, RONA, Cash Flow, and related indicators.
Perform detailed variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and key performance drivers.
Provide commercial insights on market conditions and business performance to support strategic decision-making.
Budgeting, Planning and Forecasts
Support the consolidation, analysis, and reporting of budgets, forecasts, and planning cycles across the business unit.
Partner with stakeholders to provide guidance on emerging issues, forecasting assumptions, monthly reporting, and budgeting activities.
Contribute to robust financial planning processes that support business growth and performance.
Administration and Compliance
Monitor and report on the costs and benefits associated with key transformation programs and business initiatives.
Maintain accurate reconciliations between management reporting and core financial systems, including SAP S/4HANA and BPC.
Ensure compliance with Orica's financial governance, reporting standards, and corporate requirements.
What you will bring
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in FP&A, management reporting, commercial finance, or business partnering within a large multinational or global organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate data into meaningful business recommendations.
Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making through financial insights.
Exposure to SAP (preferred but not essential).
Knowledge of Power BI or other business intelligence and visualization tools will be highly regarded.
