Wonder Pies and Traderne are looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused team member to coordinate and host our Chef's Table events, pie-making classes and other customer experiences.
This is a varied role that combines customer service, event administration and hands-on event hosting. You'll be responsible for ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable experience, from their initial invitation through to the end of each event.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent organisational skills and thrives in a hospitality environment where no two days are the same.
About the Role
You will be responsible for coordinating and hosting our Chef's Table experiences, pie-making classes and occasional off-site events, working closely with our chefs and front-of-house team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing bookings, invitations and guest RSVPs.
- Preparing menus, signage and place cards.
- Responding to customer enquiries and securing reservations.
- Collecting dietary requirements and communicating them to the team.
- Setting up event spaces before service.
- Greeting and hosting guests throughout their experience.
- Assisting with food and beverage service during Chef's Tables.
- Presenting dishes and sharing menu highlights with guests.
- Providing wine and beverage service.
- Maintaining a clean, organised service area.
- Packing down and resetting the space after each event.
- Communicating with the kitchen to ensure smooth service.
- Managing guest requests professionally and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Pie-Making Classes
You will also co-host our popular pie-making classes, held on Saturdays and for private bookings.
Working alongside our chef, you will:
- Welcome and check in guests.
- Assist participants throughout the class.
- Prepare workstations, ingredients and equipment.
- Serve beverages during the session.
- Prepare venue prior to classes and pack down afterwards.
- Answer customer enquiries and manage class bookings.
Additional Opportunities
As Wonder Pies operates multiple businesses and regularly attends markets and events, there may also be opportunities to work additional customer service shifts at our cafés or other venues for candidates seeking more hours.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, confident and genuinely enjoys working with people.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing bookings and customer enquiries.
- Calm and professional in a busy hospitality environment.
- A strong communicator who works well within a team.
- Passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences.
- Section waiter experience is highly regarded but not essential.
What We Offer
- Casual hourly position.
- Approximately three regular event days per week, with opportunities for additional shifts.
- Hands-on training provided.
- The opportunity to work closely with a passionate and supportive team.
- A unique role focused on premium hospitality experiences rather than high-volume service.
- Opportunities for the role to grow as our events and businesses continue to expand.
