About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated casual Dental Assistant to join our growing team, with the opportunity of transitioning to a permanent position as the Practice grows. . This is an exciting opportunity to specialize in a surgical-focused role. As a Surgical Dental Assistant, your responsibilities will include assisting our oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the operating room across various hospitals and within our practice for local anesthesia procedures.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting an oral surgeon during various procedures, including extractions, dental implants, and pathology
- Preparing and sterilising surgical instruments and equipment to excellent infection control standards
- Maintaining detailed patient records
- Providing compassionate support and guidance to patients throughout their treatment
- Ensuring the dental surgery environment is clean, organised, and fully stocked
- Undertaking administrative duties as required to support the smooth operation of the practice
What we're looking for
- Must have Certificate III in Dental Assisting
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a caring and empathetic approach
- Commitment to adhering to strict infection control protocols and safety standards
- Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit, collaborative team
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development
- Drivers licence and car as travel to hospitals will be essential
