We’re looking for an experienced and people‑focused Engineering Manager to lead and develop a team of engineers within our Engineering Excellence function at oOh!media.
This role is ideal for an established Engineering Manager who is passionate about building high‑performing teams, driving engineering standards, and enabling delivery across a modern technology landscape.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 4–6 engineers, with a strong focus on people leadership, coaching, and engineering excellence, while maintaining enough technical context to guide architecture and support teams working across event‑driven, serverless‑first environments.
Working closely with Engineering, Product, and Delivery leaders, you will balance Building (20%), Guiding (50%), and Leading (30%), contributing to shared platform capabilities, tooling, and practices that enable teams across oOh!media to deliver high‑quality solutions at pace.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead and develop a team of 2–6 engineers, including 1:1s, performance reviews, coaching and career progression
-
Foster a psychologically safe, inclusive and high‑performing team culture
-
Recruit, interview and onboard new engineers
-
Coach and support Senior Engineers (L3) acting as Technical Leads on initiatives
-
Maintain relevant technical context through selective hands‑on contribution and architectural input
-
Own and contribute to engineering excellence areas such as observability, resilience, testing frameworks and shared tooling
-
Partner with cross-functional teams to enable delivery and remove organisational blockers
-
Represent your team in stakeholder discussions, communicating progress, risks and outcomes
-
Align with Engineering leadership to drive best practices and consistent ways of working
What You’ll Bring
-
Proven experience as an Engineering Manager with direct people leadership responsibility (not a step‑up role)
-
Strong track record of coaching, mentoring and growing engineering teams
-
Solid technical foundation in modern software engineering practices and cloud platforms (AWS)
-
Experience working with event‑driven, distributed or serverless systems
-
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences
-
Experience working in Agile environments, with familiarity in DORA/FLOW metrics
-
Experience with some or all of the following tech stack:
-
Golang, TypeScript/Node.js, React/Svelte
-
SQL/NoSQL databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB)
Our benefits and perks:
-
Competitive salary package
-
A positive, supportive workplace culture
-
Professional growth and development opportunities
-
Comprehensive, paid training and ongoing support
