Primary objective
Provide statewide clinical leadership for BreastScreenNT mammography services as the Designated Radiographer and Joint Lead PACS
Administrator, ensuring high-quality practice, imaging governance, accreditation compliance and continuous improvement across fixed
and mobile services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Implement a standard of radiographic (mammography) practice that ensures efficient high quality breast screening and assessment.
2. Perform the function of designated Radiographer and work with designated Radiologist on imaging quality.
3. Professional supervision of other radiographers (staff and locum) within the service.
4. Provide expert practice and advice on imaging within the multidisciplinary assessment team and liaise with others for improved clinical
quality.
5. Lead the clinical governance for BreastscreenNT, ensure compliance with BSA accreditation standards, Develop and maintain service
policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines for radiographic practice.
6. Drive quality and safety initiatives for BreastscreenNT, including accreditation.
7. Work at any of the BreastScreenNT services including on the mobile screening unit and Alice Springs as required.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to
ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces
9. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Hold a current Medical Radiation qualification or equivalent, registered with the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and
eligible for membership with Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy and must hold a NT Drivers Licence.
2. Have significant mammography experience and hold a Certificate of Clinical Proficiency in Mammography (or equivalent) or able to
obtain within 12 months
3. Demonstrated supervisory experience with highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and ability to work
as a member of a multidisciplinary team
4. Demonstrated problem solving skills that achieve effective program delivery
5. Demonstrated use of PACS, IT applications and digital radiographic equipment.
6. An ability to interact effectively and sensitively with people of diverse cultures
7. Demonstrated use and knowledge of Mammography Quality Control and Improvement.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of principles and standards of the Breast Screen Australia program.
