About the role
Thinking Works is an Australian designer and manufacturer of commercial furniture and workstation systems. We are seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to run day-to-day production activity in our workshop, operating CNC and woodworking machinery while leading quality, output and continuous improvement across the production process.
The role reports to the Production Planning Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, operate and monitor CNC cutting and machining equipment to manufacture furniture and workstation components
- Read production drawings, work orders and specifications to determine machining and assembly requirements
- Cut, shape, trim, drill and finish timber, MDF, laminate and composite components using woodworking machinery and hand tools
- Assemble furniture, workstations, screens and related products to design specification and quality standards
- Manage the assembly of die cast aluminium and mild steel table systems
- Inspect machined and assembled components for dimensional accuracy, finish quality and compliance with production requirements
- Manage parts requisitions to ensure on-time receipt for production orders
- Carry out routine maintenance, calibration and cleaning of CNC machines, woodworking equipment and production tools
- Manage quality throughout the entire production process and ensure production targets are met
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and the safe operation of machinery
- Work with staff across the business to improve manufacturing efficiency, workflow and cost of manufacture
- Complete related workshop and administrative duties as required
Pay: $77,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
