About the Role
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Reading and interpreting plans and drawings to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Measuring, cutting and shaping timber, plywood, wallboard, laminate and other construction materials.
- Constructing new timber structures and repairing existing timber structures.
- Installing kitchen cabinets, wall units, shelving, timber panels, benchtop supports and bulkheads.
- Undertaking commercial shopfitting work, including constructing partition walls, wall framing and ceiling framing.
- Installing doors, door frames, skirting boards and other timber finishing components.
- Undertaking renovation work, including dismantling existing fixtures, modifying internal structures and replacing damaged timber components.
- Installing and adjusting cabinets, panels and fixtures to accommodate existing walls and site conditions.
- Coordinating with project managers, cabinetmakers, electricians, plumbers and other trades to ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements and schedules.
- Identifying and rectifying defects and undertaking adjustments or remedial work to achieve the required finish.
- Calculating material requirements, minimizing wastage and ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Ensuring all work is undertaken in compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- A relevant trade qualification in carpentry or an equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant carpentry experience.
- Experience in commercial shopfitting, residential renovations and kitchen installations.
- The ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
- Strong measuring, cutting, assembly and installation skills.
- Competence in using carpentry hand tools and power tools.
- Good knowledge of construction materials and carpentry methods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- The ability to complete assigned work within required project timeframes.
- Licences and Other Requirements
- A current Construction Industry White Card.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Ability and willingness to travel to different residential and commercial project sites.
- Own basic carpentry tools are preferred.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
