Disability Support Worker – Croydon, VIC
Casual | Ongoing Shifts | NDIS Participant Support
We’re looking for compassionate Disability Support Worker to support an NDIS participant in his 50s, based in Croydon (VIC). This is a long-term opportunity to provide meaningful, person-centred support for someone living with diabetes, dual sensory loss (deaf-blindness), and mental health challenges.
About the Role:
You will assist the participant with medication administration, BGL (blood glucose level) monitoring, and promote healthy daily routines. The role involves sleepover, day, weekend, evening shifts.
The participant benefits from support workers who are gently proactive—those who can suggest activities, offer structure to the day, and provide encouragement without waiting for direction. This approach helps build trust and supports his overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor BGLs and support effective diabetes management
- Administer medications accurately and as prescribed
- Support with light domestic tasks, meal preparation, shopping and others
- Encourage physical activity and active participation in daily life
- Use initiative to identify needs without waiting for explicit requests
- Attend and assist with appointments
- Maintain accurate shift notes and documentation
- Work professionally within a wider support team
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience preferred but not essential - a great opportunity for support workers looking to build experience in the disability sector.
- Applicants must hold all required compliance documents, including a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (or similar), or currently studying in a related field.
- Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence.

- Ability to work independently and responsibly during both day and sleepover shifts
