About the role: (12 months Parental Leave)

This is a role where you’ll step into a fast-moving, newsroom-style environment, build your capability quickly and play a visible role in shaping how Domain shows up across Australia’s media landscape.
You’ll be leading the planning and delivery of Residential and Consumer PR, playing a key role in positioning Domain as a trusted voice on property and housing issues.
Working at the center of a fast-moving, newsroom-style communications function, you will turn property data, consumer insights and brand priorities into compelling earned media opportunities. You’ll partner closely with Research & Economics, Content, Product and Agent Marketing to ensure Domain’s stories are timely , relevant and hit the mark with media .
A core part of the role is building strong media relationships across consumer, lifestyle and property coverage— identifying opportunities for ongoing segments, partnerships and repeat media engagement. You will also play a key role in coordinating how and when stories come to market
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is as comfortable generating story ideas as they are executing media outreach bringing energy, pace and judgement to a highly visible part of the brand.
You’ll work on high-profile property stories, national media moments and data-led insights that shape the public conversation—giving you exposure and experience that accelerates your career
What does success look like?
A steady pipeline of newsworthy stories is generated from property data, consumer behaviour and product activity—ensuring Domain leads, not follows, the news agenda
Strong, trusted relationships are established with key journalists, resulting in repeat engagement, regular segments and partnership opportunities
Seamless coordination between Marketing , Content , Social and Research ensures stories land at the right time, through the right channels, with maximum reach
Property data and insights are translated into multiple content formats ( e.g. key charts, grabs, explainer angles), enabling faster and broader media coverage
Established relationships with media, preferably reporters covering housing, real estate, consumer across networks and formats
Ability to package insights into media-ready assets ( e.g. clear data points, visuals, talking points, pre-prepared angles) that make it easy for journalists to cover
Preferable experience focused on residential real estate, housing, rentals, or consumer marketplaces.
