Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team, located throughout Outer-Eastern Melbourne.
- 40-year-old male participant.
- The Basin location.
- Wednesday(s) 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, possibility of adding Monday(s) 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Ability to offer coverage for Friday(s) at the same time would also be advantageous.
- Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis and experience preferred.
- Male support worker preferred.
- Tasks include: assistance around the home performing home improvement/handyman tasks/projects (i.e. hanging shelves, building cupboards, etc), basic community access, basic domestic assistance.
- Handyman experience highly advantageous, but not essential. Just looking for someone with initiative.
- Participant interests include: Previously owned a construction business.
- Support requirements expected to increase over time.
We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Worker who possess the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients.
Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain):
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants <18 years of age).
- Valid Australian Driver’s License.
- A reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (to transport participants).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Approximately $123).
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (minimum of two doses).
- The right to work in Australia.
