CREA Laboratory Technologies is building a long-term service pipeline for scientific and laboratory instrumentation. This is a genuine career pathway for someone who wants to become a travelling field service technician over time.
About the role
Build a long-term field service technician who can maintain, test, fault-find, calibrate and support laboratory and scientific instrumentation for customers across NSW, Australia and selected international sites.
What you will learn and do
· Assist with preventative maintenance, installation, testing, calibration checks and service of laboratory instruments.
· Learn safe diagnostic routines, fault-finding methods, instrument checks and service documentation.
· Prepare parts, tools, consumables, service kits and customer site documentation.
· Complete service reports, readings, photos, parts notes and customer handover records accurately.
· Escalate faults outside approved scope and follow remote-supervision procedures when travelling alone.
· Maintain workshop, tools, test equipment and spare parts in a clean, safe and organised condition.
· Build professional customer-site behaviour, communication and safety habits.
Who this role suits
This is a practical technical role for someone who enjoys science, electronics, tools, measurement, fault-finding, customer sites and travel.
Essential and preferred requirements
· 18 years or older at commencement due to field travel, driving, customer site access and insurance requirements.
· Current NSW C-class driver licence required. P2 or unrestricted licence preferred.
· Strong interest in instrumentation, electronics, laboratory equipment, physics, chemistry, engineering or tools.
· Willingness to travel progressively as competence develops.
· Reliable, safety-minded and able to follow procedures exactly.
· Comfortable learning from manuals, checklists, senior technicians and manufacturer instructions.
